The Word that Burns on the Tongue
By G.R. Kramer
“Have I not seen how its star fire / lavishes itself into every corner, peers / into the guiltiest chamber of our hearts?”
G.R. Kramer grew up in Canada, Kenya and the U.S., the child of refugees from fascism and communism. A lawyer by vocation, he only started to submit his work for publication in the past few years. His first poetry chapbook, Locomotive of Mangled Parts, was published by Finish Line Press in 2023. His work appears in numerous journals, including the Atlanta Review, Mudfish, The New York Times and Winter Anthology. He recently won the 2024 Inception Poetry Award, sponsored by Sunspot Literary Magazine. His previously published poems can be found on his website at https://blueguitar58.wixsite.com/website-1.
